How to not be shy.
Sometimes it can be difficult not to be shy around people. Which is completely normal, hey im shy sometimes too. Whatever the reason is, being shy around people isn't the best thing. So if you're trying to get over that shyness, this is the article for you.
1. Build up Confidence, and plenty of it.
Don't get stuck up and think your better than everyone, but don't hate yourself, either. If you aren't confident within yourself, you wont be able to be confident around others. So build up a healthy amount of confidence and self esteem.
Here are a few methods:
-Write down a list of all your good qualities. Reading your good qualities can make you feel really good. The qualities can be anything from being a good listener, talents in sports, etc.
-Reward Yourself. Whatever you love, getting a cool new haircut, buying new clothes, hanging out the whole day with your friends...do it all!
-Give Yourself a Makeover. Getting a new hairstyle, try a new makeup style, mix up your clothes. This can really get you feeling good.
Become Assertive. You should say what you think and get what you need to get done. Practice being assertive around people, particularly your peers. Voice your opinions, tell them truth, and be down to earth. Obviously it wouldn't be the greatest idea to tell someone they're too fat to wear a pair of jeans, but you can tell them that you don't think the jeans are fit there style.
Make More Friends. If you are friendly with people, it'll be easier to talk to them. So be friendly, smile, say hello. Strike up a conversation if you're bored, offer to help a person in need, which is sure to boost your confidence, get you more friends, and help you a lot.
Practice Your Facials and Vocals. Your facial expressions and the way you speak has a big impact on the way you come across to somebody. If your eyes are down at the floor or looking around nervously and your voice is soft and mumbling, you're going to come across as incredibly shy, gawky and not very sure of yourself. When you're speaking to someone, keep your eyes on theirs. Relax, smile if that's the mood. Use a strong, clear voice so that the person/people can hear you easily.
Thank you, and good luck with not being shy. You will get better with practise. Help me out by sharing this page and clicking on ads.
